Floki launches Debit Card in 31 European countries

The Floki debit card is now available to the global community, the crypto project announced.

According to Floki (FLOCS), debit card will allow users to pay with crypto at any merchant accepting Visa or Mastercard. Both physical and virtual cards are implemented in 31 European countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein and Spain.

While the physical card is launched in Europe and will gradually roll out to more countries, virtual gift cards are available worldwide. However, the card is not available in OFAC-sanctioned countries and jurisdictions, Floki announcement.

Coming to the key features of the card, users will enjoy zero transaction fees, zero exchange rate fees, and multi-chain support with eight initial blockchain networks.

Users will be able to top up with the native Floki token as well as major cryptocurrencies. These include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (GROUND) and Tether stablecoins (USDT) and USDC (USDC).

Users wishing to use the card will pay a one-time fee of €32 plus shipping for the physical card. The virtual card costs a one-off fee of €10, while the top-up fee will be 2%.

In March this year, the Floki team revealed plans for debit cardsstaking and other services as part of expansion efforts targeting the project’s transition from meme coin to a leading cryptocurrency ecosystem. The mission also includes the much anticipated, but recently delayed launch from the metaverse blockchain game Valhalla.

Delays until the first quarter of 2025 for Floki’s flagship utility project have seen the native token’s price gains decline. However, the project noted that the decision stemmed from feedback from a security audit and was essential to ensure user safety.
