Coinbase acquires Spindl for better onchain advertising

Coinbase has announced the acquisition of Spindl, an ONCHAIN ​​ad and allocation platform, as part of its wider strategy to stimulate the adoption of ONCHAIN ​​applications.

THE agreement will see Spindl integrated into BaseBlockchain of layer 2 of Coinbase, in order to improve the discovery and distribution for the developers of Onchain.

Spindl, founded in 2022 by Antonio Garcia-Martinez, a former member of the Facebook advertising team, specializes in the reconstruction of advertising technological infrastructure for the onchain economy.

Garcia-Martinez played a key role in the development of the first targeting and exchange of Facebook advertising systems. His work with Spindl focused on resolving challenges related to user acquisition and commitment to decentralized applications.

“As we have already said, there is a natural steering wheel here: we support developers who build onchain applications, these applications attract onchain users and the fact that more users encourages more developers to build onchain”, said Coinbase in his ad. “The faster we turn this steering wheel, the easier it will be to bring more and more people.”

After the acquisition, Spindl will continue to support its existing customers while aligning its operations on the basic infrastructure. Jamming underlined its commitment to maintain the standards open to advertisers and publishers to promote a fair and scalable ecosystem.

With this decision, Coinbase aims to strengthen its role in the onchain economy by improving the visibility and the acquisition of users for decentralized applications.
