Roskomnadzor bans Russia’s largest crypto OTC aggregator
Russia’s communications watchdog, Roskomnadzor, blocked access to the country’s largest cryptographic aggregator platform.
The Russian telecommunications watchdog Roskomnadzor blocked access to Bestchange, one of the largest free crypto aggregators in Eastern Europe and Russia. At the time of the press, the regulator did not explain the reason, although the website appears on the list of blocked platforms.

A Bestchange spokesperson said that lawyers for the platform “were already working on the release [access to] The website ”, although they did not disclose the reason for the ban. Founded in 2007, Bestchange is one of the oldest and the largest aggregators of over-the-counter crypto platforms.
He was previously blocked – first in 2017 when a tribunal of Saint Petersburg prohibited it, saying that Bitcoin (BTC) was a monetary substitute and irreversible blockchain transactions made the application of the application. This ban was lifted in 2018, but in 2019 Roskomnadzor blocked it again, only to eliminate the restriction a few months later.
Now, the ban occurs almost six months after Russia has introduced a new law on the announcements of Bitcoin and cryptography exploitation. The law blocks announcements for digital assets and everything that helps move cryptography, including services that allow users to transfer it using Russian infrastructure.
After the introduction of the law, the largest search engine in Russia, Yandex, quickly updated Its advertising policy, the prohibition of promotions for crypto exchanges, intelligent contracts, mining, offers of initial parts and services which follow the portfolios for money laundering.
