Ethereum Foundation seeks social media manager amid criticism
The Ethereum Foundation hires a social media manager, a decision following the growing criticism of the community concerning its perceived disconnection of the base of users of Ethereum.
The full -time and remote role will focus on managing the presence on the social networks of the foundation on platforms like X, Facebook and Linkedin. The new rental will be responsible for the amplification of updates to Ethereum ecosystems and the organization of the campaigns to initiate contributors.
Josh Stark, longtime member of the Ethereum Foundation, announced the opening of employment on X on February 20, reporting an effort to respond to the concerns of the community.
“”We are assessing a team. Come in part, as social media manager at @ethereumfndn,“Stark wrote in his job.
The list requires deep knowledge and ethereum, strong writing skills and a high -level account management experience with more than 10,000 subscribers, highlighting the need for the foundation for an experienced blockchain communicator.

The role targets community awareness
This hiring is involved in the midst of current community tensions, in particular with regard to recent ETH sales from the Foundation. Last month, crypto.news reported The Foundation sold 200 ETH (worth $ 672,000) at the beginning of 2025, arousing indignation among users like @wazzcrypto on X, which supported Sales erodes confidence and should finance developers or mark them instead.
The backlash has strengthened the perceptions that the Ethereum Foundation is disconnected, a feeling that the new role aims to approach by improving commitment and transparency.
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, defended Sales on X on the same day, by Crypto.News, citing regulatory pressures and the risk of controversial rigid forks. He recognized the frustration of the community but underlined the accent put by the foundation on long -term sustainability, urging better commitment.
These controversies highlight the need for better communication, than the role of the target social media manager.
