KuCoin seeks MiCAR license in Austria

KuCoin sees user base grow to 38m, fastest gains in LATAM and MENA


Kucoin is working to regularize services for European cryptography customers with a landscaped License in Austria.

Major Crypto Exchange Kucoin said It requests a market regulatory license in Austria on markets in the European Union.

The EU Mica or Micar frame entered into force last December, normalizing the policy framework for digital asset operators and stablecoin issuers. Securing a license under the EU crypto license regime allows any business to pass a passport to its services throughout the European Economic Area.

According to a press release, Kucoin will request the approval of the twisted in the capital of Austria, Vienna, via its local subsidiary Kucoin eu Exchange GmbH. The Crypto Exchange also plans to establish a registered office in Austria, typing the country as a basis for launching cryptographic operations on European markets.

Speaking about the decision, the CEO of Kucoin Eu, Oliver Stauber, said that the platform was “delighted to embark on this trip” in the regulated cryptographic markets in Europe.
