Solana-based Pump.fun regains control of its X page after brief hijack

Pump.fun regained control of his X account after a brief takeover by unknown attackers.

The pirates briefly accessed page X of the Solana same Launchpad, using the platform to promote the meme of scam in a series of messages.

The renowned blockchain investigator Zachxbt was the first to warn users of the violation, advising traders to click any link or exchange the tokens even published by the attackers.

In one of the posts now deleted, the pirates tried to deceive investors to buy a false pump. The platform does not have a native token and facilitates only the rapid creation of cryptocurrencies based in Solana.

Pump.fun had fully regained control of his X account at the time of publication. It is not clear if the merchants of memes have undergone losses of the incident.

Recurring problem

It was not the first social media hack orchestrated by the same bad actors, noted Zachxbt on his official telegram channel. “The compromise of the Pumpdotfun X account is directly connected to the channel to the Jupiter DAO February 2025 & DOGWIFCOIN NOV 2024 x account compromise. Zachxbt wrote.

Several X accounts have been diverted in recent months. The attackers generally take control of the popular accounts, after addresses of the fraudulent contract and try to steal funds from without distrust users.

“This is probably not the fault of the fun fun or Jupiter teams”, Zachxbt note. According to the blockchain investigator, it is probably that a “threat actor is employees of the social engineering of X with fraudulent documents / e-mails or a panel is exploited”.
