Sonic debuts Mobius mainnet, first chain extension on Solana

Sonic launched his Mobius Mainnet, inaugurating a new era of development for the blockchain ecosystem thanks to the first chain extension on Solana.

As a pioneer of the Solana virtual machine chain, Sonic aims to improve the landscape of game applications and decentralized on the Solana (GROUND) network.

The launch of Sonic Mobius Mainnet, which operates the Sonic Hypergrid technology, presents the network’s network capabilities to the Sol Ecosystem, the team announcement.

Evolution and personalization are key features for decentralized network applications.

The Testnet phase has seen 8 million users

Mobius’s Mainnet follows a testnet phase that saw the platform tested in combat in various games and applications. The Testnet has also gained significant traction, to integrate more than 8 million users, noted the co-founder and CEO of Sonic Solana Virtual Machine Chris Zhu.

“The launch of Mobius Mainnet – named after the infinite continuity of the Möbius strip – obtains the start of a new era for web3 applications on the SVM (Solana Virtual Machine,” added Zhu.

Sonic will aim for applications by looking at the “attention capital markets” for accelerated development and deployment. This means that developers on the layer 2 network will benefit from a system that allows them to personalize and extend applications while maintaining native compatibility with Solana.

As a seamless extension, Sonic allows more than migration without friction of decentralized applications. Users can pay gas fees with soil and benefit from full interoperability with Solana. The platform also allows integration with ecosystem protocols such as Pyth, Metaplex and Hyperlan.

This main step follows the announcement by Sonic Solana Virtual Machine of his hackathon of $ 1 million in mid-February, aimed at encouraging developer activity before activation of Mobius. At the time, Sonic announced that the Mainnet of the layer 2 network will be posted at 12:00 pm UTC on February 27.

The projects participating in the hackathon, which take place until March 14, have the possibility of winning prizes to create decentralized applications in games, artificial intelligence, decentralized finances and other sectors.

One of the main objectives of Sonic is to Power Web3 Tiktok App Layer And help bring billions of channel users.
