Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade passes audit, remains on track for launch
The Ethereum Foundation has announced that the audit of contracts in the Pectra system has solved all the problems identified.
The Ethereum Foundation just revealed the results of the audit carried out on the Pectra System contracts, covering three of its Ethereum improvement proposals (EIPS) —EIP-2935, EIP-7002 and EIP-7251-On the 11 included in Pectra.
According to the Foundation, all the important problems identified during the examination have been resolved. The main objective of the audit was to assess the potential vulnerabilities in contracts and to ensure that the logic of the contract aligns with the planned functions described in the proposals of improvement of Ethereum.
THE Pectra upgradeconsolidated 11 noWas deployed on the Holesky Testnet on February 24, but he did not finalize in the scheduled time. The EIP key in the upgrade is EIP-7702which aims to improve the user experience for cryptographic wallets By incorporating intelligent contract features, contributing to the broader objective of integration Account abstraction On Ethereum (Ethn).
Another major proposal, EIP-7251Address the Victim of the Validator by increasing the maximum implementation limit of 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH. This change is designed to mitigate the challenge that the validators had to distribute issues on several validators during the implementation of more than 32 ETH.
Holesky is the first testnet to perform a simulation of the Pectra upgrade. The next test is scheduled for the Sepolia Testnet on March 5, although there is a possibility of delays. According to Galaxy’s Christine KimEthereum developers can postpone the Sepolia test depending on the scale of the problems encountered in the Holesky test. However, since the audit of the Pectra contract confirmed that all the important problems had been solved, the upgrade seems to remain on the right track.
The deployment of Pectra Mainnet is currently scheduled for April 8.
