Standard Crypto leads $140m raise for Walrus Foundation
Standard Crypto supported an increase of 140 million dollars for Walrus Foundation, an organization that seeks to build a highly scalable decentralized storage solution.
Morse protocol is currently a blockchain-based data storage platform In Testnet. By details in a announcementThe financing of a private tokens sale will help Walrus Foundation to develop the data storage network on suis (Sui).
“This investment is an important step to redefine decentralized storage. By taking advantage of the single architecture of Sui, we are storage of programmable, interactive and secure data,” said Rebecca Simmonds, managing director of Walrus Foundation, in a press release.
Walrus plans to capitalize on the growing demand for programmable storage on the market, which it can now continue following this capital injection, added Simmonds.
The platform based on suis, developed by Mysten Labs, is gaining ground while developers and projects use its solution for chain and out-of-chain data management. Any application can take advantage of the Morse to publish, read and program data files, using intelligent movement -based contracts.
The combination of storage, availability and decentralized IT means that users have access to a solution that considerably improves inherited storage solutions.
According to the Walrus team, storage goes beyond simple storage – it is a question of being “dynamic, verifiable and programmable”. The use of artificial intelligence data sets, the history of blockchain and the rich media among all in play with the Morse.
Adam Goldberg, co-founder and managing director of Standard Crypto, said in a comment:
“We have been donors from MySten Labs from the very beginning and, inspired by their ability to transform research into products into small groups, we are delighted to deepen our partnership thanks to a new investment in Walrus.”
The increase of 140 million dollars in Walrus also attracted several major venture capital companies in Crypto, notably A16Z Crypto, Electric Capital, Franklin Templeton Digital Assets and Commander3 ventures.
In addition to the news of funding, the Walrus Foundation revealed that the main Walrus protocol should be posted on March 27, 2025.
