Sentient’s open-source AI outperforms Perplexity, targets web3 devs

Sentient, supported by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, announced Open Deep Search, an Open Source framework that surpasses perplexity in reasoning and research capacities. The launch aims to democratize access to advanced innovation of artificial intelligence and web fuel3 via Sentient Cat, which already has a waiting list of 1.75 million.

Decentralized based in San Francisco artificial intelligence The developer Sentient has unveiled its next version of Open Deep Search on April 2. According to a press release shared with Crypto.News, ODS is the first Open Source research system to go beyond the perplexity and Sonar Reashing Pro perplexity in performance benchmarks, including executives and simpleqa.

The technology was first introduced to more than 1,500 crypto and AI developers at Open Act Summit during ETH Denver. The Sentient platform offers reasoning in several improved steps and response capacities to factual requests, positioning ODs as a potential disruptor in the IA search sector.

Sentient Labs, the developer behind ODS, was founded by the old Polygon Co-founder Sandeep Nailwal. The platform raised $ 85 million in seed funding led by Pantera Capital and Framework Ventures, alongside Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund.

“The release of Open Deep Search is an important step in our mission to make AI accessible to all,” said Himanshu Tyagi, co-founder of Sentient. “Open-Source A framework that surpasses industry leaders as the perplexity throws the glove to developers of the closed source while giving developers access to a powerful primitive which releases them to create the applications they have always dreamed of.”

Access failure via sensitive cat

Open Deep Search will be integrated into a Cat, the IA chatbot oriented consumer of the company. The deployment will start with the first testers, followed by weekly updates before a full public launch in the next two months.

Despite limited funding compared to the main AI players, Sentient has developed ODs using decentralized principles and a lean budget. The company claims that this levels the rules of the game against centralized AI models supported by billions of funds.

“The ODs prove that open source AI can compete with closed source technology for architecture and research reasoning,” said the company in its communication.
