Base dominates DeFi transactions, Optimism leads cross-chain volume
Optimism has increased transversal transfers, while the base dominates Dex transactions, Ethereum has systematically trendy.
The DEFI markets recently designed major changes. According to Dune Analytics, optimism (Op) has experienced significant growth in transversal transfers. At the same time, the base is in the lead in transactions and dex costs.
The traders have moved $ 410 million to value transfers to and since optimism. This is significant, because the figure represents 40% of all the displaced values on large channels. Thanks to its interoperability, optimism is becoming more and more popular for moving liquidity between Ethereum Layer-2 networks.
Optimism, the growth of the base is based on interoperability
The key to the position of optimism is its OP battery, which is open source. This improves interoperability, allowing other networks to interface easily with it. This is particularly true for the base, which is also built on the top of the OP battery. Mantle, Worldcoin and Celo are among the other similar channels.
Base benefits from its integration of optimism and currently leads in terms of transactions and dex costs. For example, 60% of all DEFI transactions now occur on the basis. Arbitrum facilitates approximately 25% of Dex transactions. Ethereum (Eth) Transaction counts have systematically dropped and represent only 7% of DEX transactions on April 7.
While Dex are trying to compete with centralized exchanges, they move away from Ethereum because of its expensive gas costs. Since blockchains charge costs on each transaction, this change also results in a change in profitability. More specifically, Base won 211 ETH in fresh on April 7, with Arbitrum nearly 170 ETH.
Although Ethereum no longer controls the majority of Dex transactions, it still dominates the total trading volume. Ethereum controls 60% of the $ 3 billion in daily dex volume. Base holds second place with 20%, while Arbitrum ranks third, with around 15% of the market.
