Ronin migrates its legacy bridge to Chainlink CCIP

Chainlink joins USDe Proof of Reserves as attestor

Ronin, the blockchain for the game, has migrated its Ronin bridge to the transversal interoperability protocol of Chainlink.

The Ronin network (Ron), whose web3 game platform was created by the Sky Mavis team behind Axie Infitnity (Ax) game, announcement the completion of migration to the chain (LINK) Interoperability interoperability protocol on April 25.

CCIP is now the canonical transverse infrastructure provider of the Ronin bridge. The milestone comes a few months after a vote of the Validators community in October 2024 saw the platform Choose Chainlink sur Layerzero and Axlar.

From the announcement, ChainLink helps get more than $ 450 million in active on Ronin.

Commenting on the development, Trung Nguyen, chief executive officer and co-founder of Sky Mavis, said:

“Migration to Chainlink CCIP is a major unlock for Ronin while we are going to the most accessible and secure game of play and consumers on Web3. Developers obtain a transversal infrastructure to build quickly and secure, while users can easily fill assets through the multi-chain ecosystem, opening the door to the next generation of games and applications. ”

The Ronin bridge underwent a major feat in 2022 with Hackers flying more than $ 600 million crypto value. The platform interrupted transactions on the bridge in August 2024 in the middle 10 million dollars subdition.

The adoption of the CCIP of the chain is therefore one of the efforts to increase the safety of sanded assets. The platform also plans to draw from other chain liaison solutions to improve the experience and adoption of users, in particular by obtaining land in decentralized finance.

With migration, users can now transfer all supported tokens, including Axs, Ygg and Banana as well as USDC and Bitcoin wrapped towards and from Ronin. Transfers will be via the Ronin Bridge application CCIP of Link CCIP.

Despite the last blow, the Décontaculé Ronin Bridge tab remains visible. According to the Ronin Network team, a number of users have not yet called for their tokens in Ethereum. These requests for withdrawal are the reason why the inherited bridge is always visible.
