EU approves 53 crypto firms under MiCA framework

Crypto.com grabs provisional MiCA license


Six months after the full application of mica by the European Union, the EU authorized 53 entities linked to the crypto to operate legally in its economic field of 30 countries.

According to a July 7 update Shared by Patrick Hansen, Director of EU strategy and policy in Circle, the list now includes 14 seven-country-under-license transmitters and 39 Crypto-Authorized Crypto-Aset Services. Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp and N26 are among the companies that can now “pass” their services throughout the EU without the need for additional local approvals.

On December 30, 2024, the Crypto-Sets, or Mica regulation markets entered into force. He established the first unified legal framework for cryptocurrency operations in history, covering consumer protection, disclosure, licenses and stablecoin issuance.

Attachment (USDT), has not yet obtained a Mica license, a decision which is already led to crimes by platforms such as Coinbase and Crypto.com. Binance, faced with regulatory challenges in several jurisdictions, is also absent from the approved list.
