“This funding marks an important step in our Helios transformation into a new generation AI and HPC data center campus,” said Mike Novogratz, founder and CEO of Galaxy. “We are on the right track and delighted to deliver the first power phase to Coreweave from the beginning of 2026. This project is a key step in the diversification of the Galaxy business model as we develop beyond the crypto and in the wider IA infrastructure space.”
Galaxy Digital cost $ 350 million in equity, while the rest of the construction cost will be covered by debt. At full capacity after upgrades, the Helios Data Center could support up to 3.5 GW of power, making it one of the largest in the world.
Galaxy plans to transform Helios into an AI center
Galaxy Digital diversifies its Crypto exploitation data center for AI calculation infrastructure. The location of the installation in Texas allows it to benefit from cheap energy and a favorable regulatory environment.
