Users report six-figure losses in Cardex exploit on Abstract Chain

Over 72% of PENGU holders dump all tokens immediately after launch

Summary Chain said that a recent feat was an isolated incident linked to Cardex, a fantastic blockchain game.

Abstract Chain, an Ethereum Layer-2 network built by Igloo Inc., the same entity behind the Grassouiers penguins, confirmed a survey on portfolio drainage reports shared by users on Tuesday, February 18.

Several users have flooded Discord Server from Abstract with complaints, signaling lost funds and requiring reimbursements. Some people claimed to have lost more than $ 100,000 ether (Ethn). Tensions have increased due to a delay in the abstract response to the question.

However, the team said that a survey was underway and assured users that the problem was isolated from the fantastic card in Cardex. 0xBeans, an abstract member of the team, noted that the basic abstract global portfolio was not affected and said that the problem came from Cardex “managing” important portfolio references. The individual has also promised updates once the results have become available.

“This problem seems to be isolated with an application (seems to be cardx, please do not interact at the moment). We work to go to the bottom of it ”, Oxbeans tweeted on X.

Cardex was launched on the L2 channel last week, allowing players to interact with digital chain negotiation cards. Following the incident, users accused Cardex of orchestrating a carpet traction on the project’s official telegram channel. 0xBeans advised users to avoid interacting with Cardex until the new opinion and to remove assets while waiting for a resolution.

Released by the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, Igloo Inc., in January, the Abstract team built the L2 using the developer toolbox to Zksync. Investors, including Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, supported the project with a total of $ 11 million last July.
