The signs of a transition to AI had already emerged in 2024, when Crusoe announced an agreement of several billion dollars With the Energy Technology Company Lancium to build an AI data center of 200 megawatts in Abilene, Texas.
Presented as the “first phase” of greater expansion, the installation was about to draw up to 1.2 gigawatts of clean power and to support GPU clusters designed for large -scale formation and IA inference.
At the time, Lochmiller described the unique second -hand project to “sustainably feed the future of AI”. Although a specific launch date was not confirmed, the installation had to be posted in 2025.
Crusoe transition to AI arrives at a time when the US government is also Turn your attention to the sector. Since his return to the position in 2025, President Donald Trump has signed a decree intended for Encourage American leadership in artificial intelligence.
