Berachain, Linea airdrop odds rise on Polymarket

Polymarket users expect Berachain and Linea Protocol to launch their airdrops in the first quarter of this year.

A little Polymarché survey with $22,000 in assets, Berachain’s airdrop chance is 90% and Linear’s is 89%.

Berachain Airdrop Hopes Rise

Berachain has become one of the fastest growing players in the crypto industry. It is also one of the best funded, having raised $43 million in 2023 and 100 million dollars in March last year, which valued it at $1 billion.

It is a layer 1 network with a portfolio of DeFi-related applications in its ecosystem. BEX is a Uniswap (UNITED) rival that allows users to swap tokens effortlessly, while BEND is an Aave (GHOST) rival for borrowings and loans.

BERPS allows users to trade their preferred tokens, while BGT Station allows users to participate in the governance of BGT. HONEY, the company’s native stablecoin, connects these ecosystem dApps.

On-chain data shows that Berachain’s network has manipulated more than 533 million transactions since its creation. A large portion of these transactions, 57.14 million, took place in the last 14 days. Additionally, the number of active addresses on Berachain has increased from 945,000 on December 15 to almost 3 million today.

Linea’s ecosystem develops before the release

Meanwhile, Linea is a popular brand layer 2 network which uses zero-knowledge technology to power the Ethereum network. It competes with other L2 networks like Arbitrum, Base and Optimism.

On chain the data shows that Linea has processed more than 241 million transactions on its network. It has processed almost 240,000 transactions in the last 14 days.

Other data shows that Linea has accumulated more than $383 million in locked value. Mendi, ZeroLend and Lynex are notable players in its ecosystem.

Linea’s popularity is likely due to its creation by Consensys, a major player in the crypto industry. Consensys has raised over $450 million from companies like Third Point, ParaFi and Softbank. THE Lignea Foundationa Swiss organization created in November last year, will oversee the drop.

Many popular crypto projects like zkSync, EigenLayer, Wormhole, LayerZero, and Hamster Kombat have launched their airdrops with mixed success. Wormhole’s token is down 82% from its trading peak, while EigenLayer is down 30%.
