LAPD recovers $2.7m in stolen Bitcoin mining equipment
Two suspects linked to a South American freight flight ring were arrested after the Los Angeles police recovered more than $ 3.9 million in stolen goods, including $ 2.7 million in Bitcoin mining computers intercepted in Lax.
The detectives of the LAPD freight flight unit, working with the Port of Los Angeles police and other agencies, apprehended Oscar David Borroro-Manchola, 41, and Yoniker Rafael Martinez-Ramos, 25, following a survey on the stolen cargo linked to the South American group Theft.
The mining equipment was recovered when he was loaded on an airplane bounded by Hong Kong. The entry highlights the scale and the sophistication of current freight flight operations targeting high value technological shipments.

The investigation is underway, officials warning that more arrests can follow, because the police continue efforts to protect the commercial freight channels.
