Dr Disrespect’s NFT dream game Deadrop shuts down
After three years of development, the Midnight Society of Dr Dr Dispect stops, marking the end of its NFT -based game project, Deadrop.

Deadrop was an ambitious PVPS extraction shooter taking place in a world where “the 80s never ended”. It was originally funded through NFT sales, players buying access to the founders to test early builds.
Midnight Society was founded in 2021 by Beahm, veteran of Call of Duty, Robert Bowling, and the designer of Halo Quinn Delhoyo. The studio has promised that “the online multiplayer PVP the most focused on the community that the world has ever seen”. Players could buy visors based on NFT as identities in play and exchange them on platforms like Opensea. However, we do not know who, if someone, will reimburse NFT purchases which have essentially lost all their value.
The project struck the turbulence in 2024 when Beahm left after admission To send inappropriate messages to a minor on Twitch, a live service. “We express our sincere gratitude to each member of our community and deeply sorry, we could not reach our ultimate goal,” wrote the studio.
